It discusses the thoughts of the Pre-Qin scholars based on their origin and evolution. Finally, it is inferred that Neo-Confucianism of the Song and Ming Dynasties is the inheritance and summary of the Pre-Qin thoughts. This book starts with the methods of exegesis, textual criticism, and linguistics, and uses microscopic glyphs and meanings to construct a macroscopic history of thought. It clearly embodies Fu's academic thought and rigorous academic style of "philosophy is a by-product of linguistics."

This book is very interesting! Mr. Fu Sinian used exegesis, textual criticism and other methods to conduct in-depth research on the words "xing" and "ming", which gave me a deeper understanding of pre-Qin thought. He said that "philosophy is a by-product of linguistics", which I think makes sense. Moreover, the analysis in the book is rigorous and convincing. However, I don't really like the overly experimental writing style, which sometimes makes it feel a bit boring. But overall, this is a great book worth reading!
