Return of the Embers

I'm not continuing this story. I don't want the male lead to end up alone, so I'm starting over with a new one. Love, hate, anger, and desire: what do they amount to when the gods can decide everything with a single thought? The Divine King Ye Tian conceals his identity and joins a minor sect. Alongside its disciples, whose skills are barely passable, he enters the Immortal Spirit Grand Contest. While causing trouble, he gets his secret identity exposed. What is the point of competing in the Immortal Spirit Grand Contest after such an embarrassing reveal? So the young Divine King “abandons darkness for the light,” openly using his supreme divine status and power to solve everyone's problems. After weathering one calamity after another, he wins countless hearts… and reaps fame, fortune, beauty, and acclaim! Everyone thinks His Majesty the Divine King has finally stopped “acting childish” and can settle down to rule from on high. The gods, immortals, and mortals alike see that he has no intention of returning to the Divine King's Palace to take a wife and concubines. They've already lowered their expectations and started plotting to win him over first, then figure out the rest. But just then, Ye sneaks back into his secret identity as an innocent wanderer… Ye's message: I'll wear the cuckold's hat myself, and I don't care how many I have to wear. I'll give you status if you give me freedom! What? You mind? I stopped caring ages ago. But playtime is playtime, and the one person in my heart will always be the same, even if he dumped me! The Demon Lord's message: I'll fight heaven and earth to steal my beloved. What, you got a problem? Never seen a fearless young upstart before? The Divine King? Not interested. But are all you divine folk as handsome as you? I don't want to be the Divine King, and I don't know why everyone is so crazy about him… I only want you. Be my wife! What do you mean, you're stunned? That fox demon from the Yao clan sent you a formal marriage proposal!? Fine…
