Willow Smoke and Clouds of Great Tang

Modern homebody Liu Yanyun is so unlucky that even drinking cold water makes him choke. One night, he encounters an unparalleled beauty. Just as he’s about to strike up a conversation, he’s snatched into a mysterious space. A fellow who calls himself the Divine Lord says they grabbed the wrong person, but Liu Yanyun can’t go back either. As compensation, he gives him a superpower, but Liu Yanyun must complete missions to change history. Two others are taking part as well: Wang Mang and Sima Yi, who were reborn in the Han Dynasty and the Three Kingdoms era respectively. Both of them failed. Liu Yanyun is reborn in the Tang Dynasty, but this Tang is different. Li Yuanba, who could supposedly tear the heavens apart with bare hands, is no legend, and the high-flying Immortal Ziyang is still alive. Even the Medicine King, Sun Simiao, is a martial arts master. Liu Yanyun only wants to live a quiet, ordinary life, but trouble keeps coming to him on its own. In a feudal dynasty, human lives are worth less than a dog’s. Those who kill innocents indiscriminately shall be executed. Those who slaughter the common people shall be executed. The Tang emperor, however, is one person he cannot execute. The Tang Dynasty’s smoke and clouds hold all the love and hatred among the imperial clan. This story is entirely fictional; please don’t take it as referring to real people or events.
