The Bright Moon Blade of the Great Song

A tale of two heroines set in the late Northern Song dynasty, a tragic song of worldly passions echoing amid blades and tenderness.

The story begins in a northern border city where prosperity and danger go hand in hand. Bai Yinyin, who possesses the peerless Thirty-Six Heavenly Dipper Saber Techniques and a mysterious past, sets out on a thorny path to uncover the truth behind her mother's death after her adoptive father is brutally killed and her childhood sweetheart, Bai Feimu, betrays her. Chu Qiong, a shrewd and capable businesswoman, runs a ceramics shop in the border city to escape an unrequited romance with her cousin, Han Ji, and her family's control. By a twist of fate, her destiny becomes entwined with Bai Yinyin's.

Together, the two heroines navigate the many forces vying for power in the border city: the wastrel Song Jing, the lovesick and fierce Song Xiaoyu, the obsessive horse expert Chen Xiaofeng, and Fang Kuiyi and Lin Mufeng, Lin Chong's adopted son, who join the resistance against tyranny at Little Liangshan. As they gradually lift the layers of mystery, they discover that Bai Yinyin's past is deeply bound up with the feuds involving the powerful Song Tianxiao, the corrupt court officials Gao Qiu and Wang Boyan, and even her biological father, Mo Kelin.

Yet personal grudges and tangled romances seem so small beneath the turning wheel of history. The Jurchen armies sweep south, and war once again engulfs the border city. Amid the nation's peril and the trials of human nature, Bai Yinyin and Chu Qiong witness betrayal and loyalty, and endure despair and renewal. Bai Feimu, consumed by greed for power, ultimately becomes a discarded pawn. Lin Mufeng dies heroically to avenge his country and family. After enduring countless hardships, Fang Kuiyi and Song Xiaoyu finally find happiness together. As for the two women, after seeing through the world's turmoil and the emptiness of romance, they resolutely sever the threads tying them to the past.

In the end, together with their old friend Zhao Feifei, who has also drifted far from home, they open Qiongyin Pavilion in the border city, concealing their talents amid the bustle of everyday life and staying by each other's side.
