Rain Through the Four Seasons

Shanghai, 1930. The city is divided among rival powers. Everyone has their own love, hatred, family ties, and interests! With a few major deals from Shanghai tycoon Du Yuesheng, Sui Wangshan transformed himself into a smuggling king. He smuggled people and goods, and in just a few short years, built a power base of his own. But no one could have guessed that before making his fortune, he was just an idle street thug. People's hearts can be frightening. Sui Wangshan has a beautiful wife, but in her early years, she had dealings with Du Yuesheng... Why? One day, a man brought a boy of twelve or thirteen to his house and begged him to buy the boy. Sui Wangshan has a daughter, clever and adorable, named Ru Yi. The boy, Shen Guofan, has neither father nor mother. Compared with Sui Wangshan's daughter, their circumstances could hardly be more different. But what does it matter if they grew up together? What does it matter if they were innocent childhood companions... 1937. Sui Wangshan's family falls into decline, and his wife and daughter vanish without a trace. The boy who was once sold into his household survives the Japanese invasion of China and returns to Shanghai from Nanjing... Everyone goes through it all, and everyone loses everything.
