Can socialism be established during the Three Kingdoms period? The answer is yes. Socialism is a more progressive ideology, concept of social governance, method of organizing production, and means of distributing profits than slavery, feudalism, capitalism, and imperialism. As long as a society has embraced these advanced ideas, produced people capable of advancing them, and possesses the necessary objective conditions, socialism can be established in any era. In the course of building socialism, conflict with the old society’s vested interests is inevitable. The people, too, may be misled by the old society’s forces and ideas, causing them to doubt or even oppose this advanced ideology. Every human miracle must start from scratch. A transmigrator who can’t make it from nothing is pathetic, and a transmigrator without a System in a novel’s world will have no sense of superiority. So we must start from scratch while still enjoying a degree of superiority. Many people will oppose us: representatives of the traditional powers like Yuan Shao, Yuan Shu, Liu Bei, and Sun Quan, as well as intellectuals from the old society, such as Zhuge Liang, Chen Gong, Zhou Yu, Lu Su, and Xun Yu. Even the many excellent generals will be influenced by traditional culture and swept up by the old powers and ideas, choosing to oppose us under the sway of those old ideas, sometimes even refusing to repent until death. Guan Yu and Zhang Fei, for example, will fight us for this reason. But thinkers differ from one another, and some ideas are more advanced than others. The details will emerge gradually as the story unfolds. Perhaps we’ll witness a society worth looking forward to together.
