Misdiagnosis of Traditional Chinese Medicine

The phenomenon of misdiagnosis arises with the emergence of clinical diagnosis and treatment activities. It can be said that misdiagnosis has occurred since the emergence of clinical diagnosis. The occurrence of misdiagnosis has had a negative impact on patients, families, society and the academic field of traditional Chinese medicine. How to avoid misdiagnosis and improve the level of syndrome differentiation and treatment is the goal that medical workers strive to pursue. To achieve this goal, it is not enough to study how to correctly diagnose diseases from the perspective of diagnostics alone. We must study how to prevent incorrect diagnosis from another aspect. This is the content of misdiagnosis research. Therefore, on the basis of summarizing past experience and combining our own research results, we wrote the monograph "Misdiagnosis of Traditional Chinese Medicine", which was published by Fujian Science and Technology Press in September 2003. In 2006, under the organization of the China Traditional Chinese Medicine Press, we established a writing committee and decided to compile a supporting textbook for the classroom teaching of "Diagnostics of Traditional Chinese Medicine", a professional course for the professional education of traditional Chinese medicine in colleges and universities across the country, and gradually turn misdiagnosis research into an independent subject. "Misdiagnosis of Traditional Chinese Medicine" is another aspect or opposite of traditional Chinese medicine diagnostics. It analyzes and studies various internal and external factors that prevent correct, timely and comprehensive diagnosis during the diagnosis and treatment process. It fully embodies the overall thinking of traditional Chinese medicine and serves as a trial teaching material for classroom teaching at different levels such as junior college students of traditional Chinese medicine, five-year undergraduate students, seven-year bachelor's and master's students, and non-medical doctoral students. The purpose is to improve students' ability to correctly apply the knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine diagnostics to deal with practical clinical problems and prevent misdiagnosis and mistreatment. After nearly 18 years of research in the fields of health status, health management, and clinical thinking of traditional Chinese medicine, the team has published books related to the classification, collection, identification, early warning, evaluation, and management of health status, such as "Clinical Simulation Training of Traditional Chinese Medicine Diagnosis," "Status of Traditional Chinese Medicine," and "Health Management of Traditional Chinese Medicine." It summarizes many theories and research methods of the "Five Differentiation" ("differentiation of syndrome, syndrome, mechanism, disease, and person") for grasping health status, and provides abundant materials for the supplement and improvement of traditional Chinese medicine misdiagnosis to avoid incorrect, untimely, and incomplete diagnostic research. Therefore, this time it is planned to be based on the "Misdiagnosis of Traditional Chinese Medicine" published by China Traditional Chinese Medicine Press. The book will be revised and supplemented in content and form according to the characteristics of the textbook. Only by paying more attention to the comprehensive application of the "five differentiations" of traditional Chinese medicine can the advantages of the overall thinking of traditional Chinese medicine be reflected, and the application and research of clinical thinking in the misdiagnosis of traditional Chinese medicine.
