Records of the Yin-Yang Judge

People have lifespans in the world of the living, and ghosts have years in the underworld. Since ancient times, our ancestors have valued the balance of yin and yang. Yin and yang are divided into two poles, which in turn divide all beings into humans and ghosts. When yin and yang are balanced, all things live in harmony. When yang is abundant and yin is scarce, the world becomes dry and scorching. When yin is abundant and yang is scarce, the air turns damp and cold. To restore harmony, there must be yang within yin and yin within yang. This is the Taiji. Yin and yang intertwine and consume one another, yet yin always turns toward yang, and yang toward yin. When yin and yang merge, they form the myriad beings of reincarnation.
