Christian Sacred Genealogy: a Multilingual Dictionary of Western Names for "Holy" People

In Western Christian countries, there are a group of "holy" figures in many fields such as history, philosophy, politics, religion, literature and art, and they constitute an important carrier of the entire Western culture. However, in several major Western languages, although these "holy" names refer to the same person, they have different glyphs and pronunciations. The identity of Western culture, which was historically formed under the influence of Christianity, is therefore concealed under the differences of different national languages. This phenomenon of "people with different names" has created astonishing confusion and become a serious obstacle to the study of Western culture in my country. "Christian Sacred Genealogy - A Multilingual Dictionary of Western "Holy" Names" aims to comprehensively introduce this important group from the perspective of name, reality and appearance, with a view to solving the three major problems in the study of Western culture: confusing character translations, difficult to find life stories, and difficult to understand artistic expressions. This book contains 290 entries, with synonyms in seven languages: Chinese, English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, and Russian referring to each other to unify the Chinese translations. Each entry records the biography of the character, points out the origin of the event, and explains the symbol to provide substantive information under different names. This book selects and prints 544 exquisite works of Western art, which not only assists the text with images, but also provides text for explanation.
