Until 1939, most Germans still believed that Europe would not fall into a full-scale war again, and that Hitler would maintain peace through diplomatic means when restoring Germany's glory. However, this glimmer of hope was completely shattered when 1.5 Million German troops invaded Poland on September 1. The prelude to World War II officially opened, and Germany began to sweep across the European continent with a blitzkrieg. With the expansion of the occupied territories, the Third Reich implemented a new racial order and eugenics plan, and its targets gradually expanded from Jews, Poles, Slavs, and Gypsies to "antisocials," mentally ill, and disabled children. From the "euthanasia" plan to genocide, the Nazis carried out industrialized assembly line mass murder step by step.
