The Emperor Claims the Jade Splendor

A modern female doctor transmigrates into the body of a princess deep in the palace. Her birth mother doesn’t love her? No problem, the empress dotes on her! Her father doesn’t care for her? No problem, she can do without that scumbag! People keep bullying her? Sorry, from now on, she’s the one doing the bullying! “Your Majesty, the princess really is gone!” Fang Jin cries. Consort Yu slowly walks over and nudges the little girl lying in the snow with her foot. “Is she really dead?” Consort Yu’s voice is lovely, but as cold as shards of ice. Fang Jin, the senior palace maid, checks the girl’s breathing again. Just then, the little girl opens her eyes and sneezes. Fang Jin screams in fright and hurriedly backs away. Qiaoyue looks astonished. “Princess?” Seeing that the girl isn’t dead, Consort Yu turns and leaves. Gu Xi wakes and looks around in confusion: palace walls, palace clothes, maids, and her own little arms and legs? She nearly chokes. “Princess?” Qiaoyue asks, worried. Could the princess have frozen herself silly? Gu Xi comes to her senses. Fine, when in Rome, do as the Romans do. “I’m fine.” “Then should we keep kneeling?” Gu Xi leaps to her feet, fury rising, and brushes the snow off her knees. “Keep kneeling? My foot! Let’s go!” “Huh?” Weren’t they here to beg Her Majesty? They’re not kneeling anymore? “Some people are cold-hearted by nature. You could kneel until you died and they still wouldn’t lift a finger to help. You’re better off relying on yourself than anyone else. Let’s go!” Gu Xi strides away, not forgetting to glance back at the firmly shut door.
