In an alternate universe, an alien invasion sets the stage for the protagonist's dynasty to evolve from the Song era into the modern age. The protagonist, Lu Zitong, is born into an official family. His father is a senior official at the Court of State Ceremonial. Though his father doesn't often work at home or discuss national affairs with the family, Lu Zitong is inevitably influenced by his words and actions. Even at a young age, he shows himself to be different from his peers, especially in his attitude toward foreign invaders. He neither hopes to wipe out all the barbarians like most people, nor believes in selling out his country for personal gain. Instead, he has the wisdom to view them from multiple angles and adapt his views as circumstances change. For these reasons and more, the protagonist's fate will one day become bound to that of the entire planet, and he will become the galaxy's greatest diplomat...
