The focus of this book is to solve the fixed cost problem and deal with the structural problems caused by heavy assets from a higher level, which involves automobiles as a representative of the high-volume industry, aircraft as a representative of the small-volume industry, and e-commerce new retail, a key component of the emerging economy. Based on observations of Chinese companies and combined with his experience in North American companies, the author shares his views and solutions on asset-heavy and fixed costs, hoping to help mature companies get rid of or reduce the challenges of asset-heavy and help emerging companies avoid the asset-heavy trap. The cases in this book mainly come from the manufacturing industry, but the basic ideas are also applicable to the service industry.

The book's point about asset-heavy versus asset-light is very interesting. The author shared his views and solutions to the cost problem through his own experience, which inspired me deeply. As mentioned in the book, sometimes companies choose to build their own factories in order to meet their requirements, but this may not be the best solution. We need to continue to explore more effective ways to obtain resources instead of blindly integrating vertically. This book is not only applicable to the manufacturing industry, but also has certain reference significance for the service industry.
