Yuan Ling accidentally fell into a river and took a trip through the Netherworld. Luckily, her grandfather was a ghost bailiff and managed to save her.

She slays vengeful spirits and destroys evil ghosts.
She dispels resentment and helps the dead pass on.

The day I became a spirit-affairs agent, my grandfather blew open our family's ancestral tomb. Then he proudly told me:
"It's our family's tomb, so don't be shy. If you need anything, just come take it!"
Then he turned and kowtowed to my great-grandfather's coffin.
"Dad, sorry about this. In a couple of days, I'll have your grandson get you a better coffin."
