Falling

Ye Zi always thought her marriage to Fu Jingzhan was a partnership in which each got what they wanted. One day, she grew tired of it. “Fu Jingzhan, let's end our arrangement,” she said. But Fu Jingzhan slipped the wedding ring firmly onto her finger and said with deep affection, “Ye Zi, I want to renew our contract for the rest of our lives!” She thought that was love, and fell for him completely. Then another woman who looked like Ye Zi appeared, and she finally understood that love was poison, something someone like her couldn't afford to touch. She tossed away the ring as if it were a joke and walked out of his world. Only after all the splendor had faded did Ye Zi finally understand: their marriage of convenience had been his long-planned scheme. Someone had loved her deeply from the very first glance, and that love had no end. Fu Jingzhan said, “It was you before, it's you now, and it'll be you in the future. From beginning to end, you were the only one I ever schemed to win!”
