Introduction
Stefan Zweig boldly adopted the form of narrative poetry and drama, and used skillful writing techniques and rich associations to capture fourteen historical moments as bright as stars in the vast river of history, making the glory of fourteen historical figures vividly appear before the world. Here, you will witness the birth of the impassioned "La Marseillaise", feel Napoleon's expectation and anxiety in the Battle of Waterloo, read Goethe's most famous elegies in his later years, see the irresistibility and tragedy of mankind's conquest of Antarctica, and lament Cicero's helplessness in the face of dictatorship...
History is a true poet and dramatist. Here, you only need to use Zweig's words to feel the shining moments of stars in different eras and regions, and let the brilliance of these bright stars illuminate our long road of life.

This book reminded me of my days running around the city, like Balboa, constantly searching for my purpose. The historical stories in the book made me feel the greatness and infinite possibilities of mankind. Zweig's writing is vivid and interesting, making me feel as if I was actually there. I think this book is not only a historical work, but also a book that can bring courage and hope to people.
