Three Hundred Years of North-South Wars: Warfare and Political Power in China, 4Th–6th Centuries

Many of the war scenes described in TV dramas and novels are fictionalized by the authors and do not represent the real situation. However, this book conducts historical research on real wars, draws on the latest historical research results, depicts major battles in the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, and vividly displays its original historical appearance. Cavalry and infantry were a very important strategic force at that time and had a very important impact on the success or failure of the war. Understanding the war is conducive to understanding the evolution of history.

Gathering of heroes and meeting with each other, this is my intuitive impression of the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties. This was an era when heroes were in power and the people were in dire straits. It also triggered many historical stories and famous wars. This dynasty has always been mentioned in history books. However, in this book, some large and small characters and events in this era are sorted out. In such an era, many civilizations were left behind. At the same time, you can see many magnificent war scenes in the book, which is very exciting.

Moreover, the author also described the tactics of cavalry and infantry in detail, which reminded me of those wonderful battles in "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms". I especially like the analysis of the impact of various factors in the war in the book. I feel that history is really full of variables. All in all, this book is worth reading and I recommend it to you!

Strict logic and sufficient citations

The military writing is very good, it describes all the changes in the military system of the Northern Wei Dynasty, and also clearly describes the cavalry.
