Yet its eastern neighbor, Yinghe, coveted its territory and sent the “Underworld Goddess, Izanami” to invade Longhuang. Plague, drought, floods, earthquakes, and countless other disasters descended, leaving Longhuang’s people to suffer amid cries of despair. The Heavenly Star Lord Luo Kui could not bear to see this. He secretly descended to the mortal realm, went in person to the Nine Hells, and summoned countless spirits of the dead to defend their homeland. Thirty celestial generals joined him, and together they drove Yinghe back, restoring life to the land.
