Storms over Sanduotang

In the late Qing Dynasty, the Shanxi merchant Shen family transports tea through a world in turmoil. Shen Yinjia, the only son of Shen Jinpeng, meets Zhao Zimo of the Zhao family and falls in love with him. Shen Yinjia gradually grows through business battles. At first, he only wants to protect the Shen family, but in time, his goal grows into protecting the people of Shanxi. Zhao Zimo is the love of his life. His close friend is Wang Mang. There is also Yi'e, who goes from actor to revolutionary, and Deng Jinyuan, who rises from a Shanghai heiress to a formidable woman and then dedicates herself to protecting the people of her country. Each has their own loves and sorrows. Shen Yinjia, Zhao Zimo, Men Bo, Wang Mang, Lu Yiduo, Chu Jinger, Yi'e, Deng Jinyuan... These friends who grew up together become very different people amid the tides of history. Like the Shanxi merchant compound that still stands, individual lives are insignificant against the grand backdrop of history, and no one can stop its forward march. The world changes, and history moves on forever. It will never be brought to a halt by one person. No matter who they are, no one can stop it. All we can do is follow our hearts in everything we do.
