The Evil Emperor's Cherished Mermaid Empress

The human emperor wants to live forever, so he plans to capture merfolk and make pills from them?

Lan Qiqi, a mermaid, is hunted by soldiers until she sneaks into the courtyard of Li Zilan’s home and finally escapes danger.

Li Zilan is gentle and handsome, accomplished in both letters and martial arts, and the human emperor’s own son.

Rather than go out and be hunted by everyone, Lan Qiqi decides to win Li Zilan over and have him help change the merfolk’s tragic fate.

She begins studying with him, learning to read and write and gradually figuring out how to get along with humans.

One day, Li Zilan confesses his feelings for her, and she realizes she has been won over instead.

What has taken hold of her heart is called love...

Only after becoming Li Zilan’s princess consort does she learn that his political standing at court is weak.

No matter. Together, the couple will strive for the throne and create a new era of harmony between merfolk and humans.
