Lu Wanning, who had transmigrated into a book as a supporting female character, lounged on the bed with her feet up, munching on sunflower seeds as her maid shared the latest gossip from the capital, all of it about the original novel’s leading couple and their tangled love and hate.
Lu Wanning told her maid smugly, “So, what matters most in life? Of course, choosing the right person to cling to. Get yourself a powerful patron, and riches and honor are yours.”
The old steward of Prince Yu’s estate leaned on his cane, heartbroken. “Your Highness, that woman is once again throwing her weight around and stirring up trouble in your name. She says you’re the powerful patron she’s latched onto. Your Highness, you really must do something!”
Sheng Jinyu gripped his sword and strode into the inner courtyard of the prince’s residence, heading straight for the boudoir of Commandery Princess Zhaoyang. His anger was thunderous. “Lu Wanning, if you do that again…”
But the sight of those gleaming jade feet beneath the bed curtains sent Sheng Jinyu’s blood rushing, and he couldn’t get another word out.
The old steward asked anxiously, “Your Highness, did you teach that woman a lesson?”
Sheng Jinyu pondered for a long while. “Steward, you wouldn’t understand. Having someone to cling to is actually pretty nice.”
Overall, I'm satisfied with it. The whole story can actually be considered a home story. The heroine doesn't really have much to fight back and is always on the defensive. But not all time-travelers are strong women. The crybaby and coquettish ones are actually pretty good too.
The author's writing is good, but there are too many modern languages 🤭
Not bad, not verbose
Although the story is not very long, I liked it very much.
