The playful and willful Princess Sissi and the graceful Emperor of Austria performed a romantic love story. The famous Vienna Golden Hall is still the dream of every artist. This dreamy country has left too many beautiful legends to the world. But why did World War I start here? Let history inform the future...
The Austro-Hungarian Empire existed from 1867 to 1918. It was one of the five major powers in Europe at that time (Germany, Britain, France, Austria, and Russia). It was also a large country with vast territory and brilliant civilization that spanned Central Europe, Eastern Europe, and Southern Europe. However, with the outbreak of World War I, the Austro-Hungarian Empire gradually collapsed, and Austria's cultural essence was also lost. By narrating the historical process of the Austro-Hungarian Empire from rise to decline, this book presents readers with a three-dimensional view of an empire with complex social contradictions and vicissitudes of life. It also attempts to explore the historical characteristics of the Austro-Hungarian Empire's society and reproduce the glory of its imperial era.

But I don't like the Habsburg royal family very much. Although they are ambitious, no ethnic group can have an absolute advantage in the empire, which leads to many conflicts. And they expand their territory through marriages and alliances, which feels a bit unscrupulous. But this book gave me a deeper understanding of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and opened my eyes to the complexity of history.
