A Gentle Reassurance

Zhou Wenyu first saw his childhood sweetheart, whom he’d known since they were six or seven, after they’d grown up. It was the first day Wen Eryang transferred to his school, and she didn’t recognize him at all. Instead, she earnestly remarked, “You’ve gotten thinner.” “...” How do you quietly make someone disappear? Asking for a friend. It’s kind of urgent. He’d thought he could pick up where they’d left off in that life-and-death friendship from childhood. Sadly, he didn’t realize he’d picked it up a little too far. · Zhou Wenyu secretly sent her breakfast anonymously, only for the girl to nearly toss it straight into the trash. Remembering that he’d been the one to make her angry first, he diligently wrote her a little apology note. He willingly took on the role of her behind-the-scenes helper, striving to be the dependable workhorse who could be sent wherever needed, while trying to figure out how to step into the spotlight and let her see him. Then one day, Wen Eryang’s eyes were still red as she swallowed back a sob and held out her hand to him. “Could you give me a hug?” “I’m a little scared.” Like a princess stumbling forward, yet charging without hesitation toward the knight who had always protected her from behind. · Before I met you, the world had lost its color. When we met again, everything turned the color of you. Bright and radiant.
