Command and Conquer: Nature's Child

What kind of people are mutants in the Command & Conquer universe? They are a group of poor people struggling to survive in the wastelands of the Yellow Zones, taking each day as it comes. They have no idea where their next meal will come from, or whether uncontrollable mutations will let them live to see tomorrow's sun. In the eyes of the Blue Zone elite, they are crude, lowly, filthy, ignorant drifters, freaks, and misfits. To the Brotherhood of Nod, they are cannon fodder, summoned when needed and discarded just as easily. Some may even become subjects in the Brotherhood of Nod's human experiments because of unusual mutations, or “volunteers” for the GDI. These people find ways to laugh through hardship. In the face of adversity, they remain cheerfully oblivious, either because they truly cannot see beyond their limited horizons or because they numb themselves into pretending not to see. They are the lowliest ants at the bottom of society, still grinning foolishly. We're kids of nature, right? Yes, we're foundlings of nature.
