I personally don't have any special attachment to Tibet. I read this book mostly out of curiosity about the legendary Dalai Lama and the few love poems posted online. As far as the content of the book is concerned, if you read the second part as a romance novel, it's probably okay. Judging from the introduction on Baidu Encyclopedia, although Tsangyang Gyatso was sentimental, he was not as romantic and dedicated as described in the book. As for his poems, they don't read so beautifully, probably due to translation. As for the few articles that have been circulated, it is better to say that he translated them well than he wrote them well, or that they were re-creations.

It's quite good. It describes how many people we met because we fell in love and how many people were separated because we couldn't be together. How many people we miss and how many nights we have lingering dreams.

The biography part is written freely based on historical data and is quite poetic... The poetry part is poorly translated!

His birth seemed to be chosen by God, and his life was destined to be used and dominated by some people. That short life can only bring people regret and regret. After getting to know his life, I can deeply understand the meaning of living up to Tathagata and living up to your Majesty, but all things will have imperfections and regrets... For the analysis of his poems, it is like reading prose, but I do not have a deep sense of the author's true intention. I feel like some parts of the analysis are a bit off.
