Very good book
I especially like the description of the Huns entering Europe in the book. Their struggle with the Roman Empire is really thrilling! The famous saying of Genghis Khan, the "Whip of God": "Let all the places covered with grass become my horse grazing land" also impressed me deeply. This book is a classic for understanding the history of nomadic peoples in Eurasia and is definitely worth reading!
"Grassland Empire" outlines the rise and fall of nomadic peoples from a grand perspective, breaking the central theory of agricultural civilization. Nomads are not barbaric invaders. They use their iron cavalry to promote the collision and integration of civilizations. The logic of the development of civilizations in the rise and fall of empires has made me deeply aware of the importance of equality and tolerance among civilizations. History is a chapter in which multiple civilizations dance together.
The story is very vivid. Although there is internal fighting, everyone moves out. It's a good story.
