This book is very interesting! It tells the history of Japan from the end of the Bakumatsu to the Meiji period, and allowed me to understand how Japan found its way to rise despite difficulties. I especially like Yoshida Shoin in the book. He worked hard to learn Western knowledge and made a great contribution to Japan's modernization process.
