This is the story of the hardships endured throughout Qingtou's life.
Qingtou was born in 1934 in Kaoshantun, a village in the mountainous northern part of Hebei Province. In 1947, when he was thirteen, land reform swept through the area. His family was classified as rich peasants and driven from their home.
From then on, he carried the heavy political burden for thirty years. With a man's strength, Qingtou held his storm-tossed family together.
In 1977, as China embarked on reform and opening up, his family shed the rich-peasant label and stepped into a new era. In 2017, Qingtou left the world he had loved so dearly.
