Chen Brai was born in 1890; died in 1948. The era he lived in was an era of great changes that had not happened in China for thousands of years. He grew up as a scholar and became a pioneer in the newspaper industry; his writing style flourished and he was influential. Later, he followed Chiang Kai-shek for more than 20 years and was regarded as a "brave leader" and "president's think tank". The content of this book is compiled from Chen Bulei's "memoirs", "diary" and "suicide note" published in Taiwan's "Biography Literature" magazine, as well as the memories and evaluations of Chen Bulei by Chiang Kai-shek, Tao Xisheng, Hu Shi and others; it is hoped that readers can have a comprehensive understanding of this legendary figure in the history of the Republic of China.
