Complete Biography of Cao Cao

Cao Cao, courtesy name Mengde, was born in 155 AD in Qiao County, Peiguo (Bo County, Anhui Province). His father, Cao Song, was originally named Xiahou. He changed his surname and inherited the title of Marquis because he became the adopted son of Cao Teng. Cao Cao fought hard for more than 30 years from the time he raised his army in Chenliu to his death in Luoyang. He participated in nearly 50 battles, large and small, and eliminated the separatist forces such as Yuan Shao, Yuan Shu, Liu Biao, Zhang Xiu, and Lu Bu. Cao Cao was an outstanding statesman, military strategist, and writer in the history of our country. He and his two sons, Cao Pi and Cao Zhi, represented the literary style of the late Eastern Han Dynasty and were a famous "literary family" in history. Cao Cao wrote many works throughout his life, among which are "Guan Cang Hai", "Gui Sui Shou" and "Dan Ge Xing" that are praised by everyone. Many poems and essays express his guidance and ambition: strong lofty aspirations and concern for the country and the people.
