In the pre-Qin period, the old social system was about to disintegrate, and a new social order was still being explored. There were many different opinions in the world, and many schools of thought such as Confucianism, Taoism, Mohism, and Legalism were formed, among which Confucianism was particularly prominent. However, by the Warring States Period, it was clear that Confucian thought had failed to adapt to the development of society and was on the decline. At this time, Mencius and Xunzi emerged one after another. Both of them studied under Confucius and took it as their own duty to inherit the Confucian orthodoxy and promote the Confucian spirit. In addition, Dong Zhongshu in the early Han Dynasty proposed "deposing hundreds of schools of thought and respecting Confucianism alone", which established the dominance of Confucianism in feudal society for more than two thousand years. This book takes Xunzi's basic thoughts as the starting point. In terms of Xunzi's thinking about heaven and man, it provides an in-depth, detailed and easy-to-understand discussion on life, doing things, dealing with the world, speaking, communicating, recognizing people, employing people, etc. I hope that while re-reading the wisdom of these sages, it can give us new inspiration for life, and then our goal will be achieved.

This book gave me a deeper understanding of Xunzi. His thoughts are really rich! The book mentioned that "Xunzi's status in Chinese history is what Aristotle is in Western history." This sentence impressed me deeply. I especially like the discussion in the book about how Xunzi behaved and did things. I find it very practical.
