The Feisty Empress Yu Xiaoqi

They say King Youling is violent and unjust, cold-blooded and cruel, yet he has no interest in women. One day: “Your Majesty, Yu Xiaoqi burned down eighteen of our warships.” “Good. They were old and badly damaged anyway. Build new ones.” Another day: “Your Majesty, Yu Xiaoqi led her people into the palace and is pouring oil everywhere to set it on fire.” “Let her burn it down. We’ll rebuild. Don’t stop her, and don’t hurt Xiaoqi.” “But, Your Majesty, Yu Xiaoqi says the new Imperial Preceptor is very handsome. She wants to take him home as her bandit husband.” The king flew into a rage. “Insolent! Where is the Imperial Preceptor? Kill him for me. I’m the only one who can be her bandit husband.”
