Strange Tales from the Afterlife Inn

There’s an inn in Huai’an City whose owner, Meng Qianxun, is unbelievably lazy. Guests who stay there don’t need to pay in silver. They only have to tell a story at night.

Meng Qianxun is used to lying beneath the peach tree in the backyard, the one that never blooms. People gather around the campfire, set a pot to simmer over it, and trade stories they’ve heard, tales of ghosts and strange happenings, of ordinary life in this mortal world.

She prided herself on having seen through the ways of the world, but never imagined she would one day fall in love.

Until one day, a guest with a red thread wrapped around his hand asked her, “Innkeeper, what’s your story?”
