I was born with a broken palm line. According to an old saying, that means misfortune is hanging over me: no happy events, only trouble, and nothing will go smoothly. I never believed in fate, until I encountered the eerie taboo of sleeping with your feet pointed at the door... I lost my job for no reason, and while looking for work, I checked into the end room of a strange inn. It was a small room, with the bed directly facing the door. I knew it broke the old taboo about pointing your feet at the door, but I didn't think much of it. That was until I discovered a corpse hidden inside the mattress beneath me!
