She was a princess of the Great Sui dynasty, born to a life of privilege. Yet she concealed her identity, changed her appearance, and entered the governor's residence disguised as a maid. There she met Wu Meixue, a dancer whose face was identical to the one beneath her disguise. Was it a coincidence, or was something else going on? When she tried to assassinate Governor Li Yuan in front of the assembled guests, she failed and was surrounded. By a twist of fate, she was able to assume Wu Meixue's identity and remain in the governor's residence, waiting for another chance to strike.
He was the second son of the Li family, handsome and brilliant, with unmatched strategic insight. He was determined to capture the assassin, never realizing she had been right beside him all along. In the end, neither of them could tell whether love or scheming weighed more heavily between them. The one thing that was certain was that he still remembered the vow he had made: “I, Li Shimin, swear to protect Yang Yunyi for the rest of her life, whether she is a princess or the daughter of a fallen kingdom. I will never break this vow!”
I like the love story between Li Shimin and Concubine Yang!
I finally finished watching it again. It wasn't finished when I watched it a few years ago. I finished it after the second time and I'm still unfinished...
Looks good and feels more real
I read it a few years ago, and now I'm reading it again. Jie Yu's book never disappoints.
It's very good. The plot is well designed and the characters are wonderfully drawn. It's a good book.
I like Concubine Yang, but I don't like Li Shishi's words about his daughter's long love.
