Why Does Everyone Keep Writing About Siheyuan Courtyards and Top Ten Lists? 为啥老是在写四合院和盘点十大什么的类型

I’m really tired of these two genres. One or two books would be fine, but when that’s all there is, it’s just ridiculous. Can someone explain what’s appealing or satisfying about these two types? I can handle reading one or two courtyard stories, but too many make me sick. I also don’t get why people won’t write about anything else and keep churning out stories about this one TV show. And what’s the point of all these review roundups of other genres? I just don’t get it. They set the tone so high, then no matter how they try to wrap things up, it feels clumsy. What goes through the minds of people who write courtyard stories and those who read these roundups? Please explain.
