Great Ming: Lingyun Temple, Sword in Hand, Reaching the Heavens

In a parallel world, cultivators and demons inhabit the same realm.

During the Wanli reign of the Great Ming,

thanks to his friend Zhang Juzheng, the chancellor, whom he had met in the mortal world and who repeatedly invited him,

the young Taoist Daoxin of Lingyun Temple enters the turbulent court of the Great Ming.

Feng Bao, the Director of the Eastern Depot, and Wei Zhongxian, the Director of the Western Depot, both want to eliminate the young Taoist Daoxin, who has entered the Directorate of Celestial Observations and been appointed Imperial Preceptor.

Meanwhile, Tu Sigung, the Commander of the Embroidered Uniform Guard, and the two experts Leng and Wuqing from the Six Fan Gate, want to win the mysterious young Taoist Daoxin over.

Yet the young Taoist Daoxin, invited by his friend Zhang Juzheng to enter the Directorate of Celestial Observations, has his own motives.

On one side, he must preserve the fortune of the Great Ming, though this has already provoked the Great Dao's tribulation.

On the other, he could retreat to Lingyun Temple on Mount Lingxiao and leave the mortal world behind.

But can Daoxin, already caught in the mire of worldly affairs, truly withdraw in peace?

When the time comes to ride the wind and break the waves, I shall raise my sword to the heavens and offer the sea as a sacrifice.
