X4: Return to Earth

In a star sector hemmed in by stargates, an ordinary adventurer sets off on an adventure. Nothing out of the ordinary... well, he might occasionally call in a favor from his well-connected family.

After his parents disappear, the protagonist leaves the surface colony and joins the ranks of interstellar adventurers, hoping to find clues to their whereabouts. He moves among various factions, only to discover that his parents were descended from an ancient organization that had long sought to reopen the stargate connecting it to Earth and return to the era of the Interstellar Federation. But when a traitor emerged, the organization fell apart and its members scattered. With the help of his friends, Liu Ming eventually reunites its members and stabilizes the interstellar situation, finally opening the stargate to Earth. But beyond the gate, Earth is still Earth, yet it is no longer humanity's home. And with it comes a new crisis.
