Two Calamities, One Baptism for Me

Wouldn't it be nice to live an ordinary life, letting it slip by like grains of sand, unaware of its passing? Maybe that's how things are for most people. But what if you had this kind of chance? Probably everyone would turn into a maniac. Out of eighty million people, only one would survive and claim victory. Everyone is an enemy. In the end, would there even be any "people" left?

Fine, in the end, I'm still alive, and I'm still human. So did I win? No. What awaits me is an even greater disaster.

But am I going to admit defeat? Never. I'll tell him that even the gods are powerless against me.
