Land God, Who Told You to Tell the Monkey About the Pilgrimage Plan?

Ten kalpas have passed since the Calamity of Investiture of the Gods, and the Calamity of Journey to the West is about to begin.

The protagonist of Journey to the West, the Spiritual Stone Monkey, is troubled by his plans to travel overseas in search of immortals and the Dao.

Then, without warning, a voice rings out.

"That monkey's as thick as a plank, and stupid beyond belief!

"Monkey, don't you know you're being manipulated?

"What a shame for the Spiritual Stone Monkey. Once he returns from learning the arts at the Three Stars Cave, he will fall step by step into Buddhism's plans. In the end, Tathagata Buddha of the Western Heaven will trap him beneath Five Elements Mountain for five hundred years."

"For the Spiritual Stone Monkey, who values freedom above all else, that will be a tremendous humiliation.

"He could have had a bright future, free to soar through the heavens and roam the earth. He could even have become a Buddha through his own strength. But because of Buddhism's schemes, he will end up as a Buddha bound to Buddhism, deprived of freedom! What a pity, what a pity!"
