Journey to the West: I, Sun Wukong, Stay Low Until I Become Invincible

A thunderous boom rang out, and rosy light filled the sky. A stone monkey burst out of a rock.

Heaven.

The Jade Emperor said, "Thousand-Mile Eye, hurry and see what happened!"

Thousand-Mile Eye went outside the heavenly gate to take a look, then returned to the main hall in an instant. "Reporting to Your Majesty, the stone monkey has been born."

After hearing his report, the Jade Emperor counted on his fingers. It would still be several hundred days before the stone monkey came up to Heaven and caused trouble. There was no rush yet.

"You may leave. It's only a stone monkey. Though it came from a stone left over when Nüwa mended the heavens, there's no need to worry about it."

"As you command."

A few dozen days later, the Jade Emperor said, "Thousand-Mile Eye, go see what the stone monkey is doing on Flower-Fruit Mountain."

"Yes, Your Majesty."

"Your Majesty, something terrible has happened! Sun Wukong is missing!"

"What?" The Jade Emperor sprang to his feet in shock.
