Our Village Became Independent Thanks to the Alliance at Weishui!

Tang Dynasty, first year of the Zhenguan era. Li Shimin and Jieli Khan make the Treaty of the Wei River on its banks.

In exchange for gold and silver, food, silk, and other supplies, the 200,000 Turkic troops under Jieli Khan agree to withdraw.

Wang Ping'an, village head of Taiping Village on the banks of the Wei River, watches as large quantities of supplies are handed over to the Turks, and countless Han people are taken away to serve them. He flies into a rage.

"Li Shimin, you damn fool! You're an emperor who rides into battle, a man who's spent his life at war, and now you'd rather pay for peace than fight to the death and protect the people!"

"I have nothing but contempt for you!"

"Today, I hereby declare that our Taiping Village is leaving the Tang Dynasty and becoming independent!"

"Jieli Khan! Turks! Leave our people behind!"
