Lost in the World

We're all spirited young people, but while I'm still searching for direction amid confusion, you already know where your futures lie. I think that's what scares me the most.

If I have to search for a way forward in the dark, I'll reach out with both hands and feel my way ahead, inch by inch.

As long as there's a glimmer of light, however tiny, I'll open my eyes wide and stride toward it.

I'll feel lost and disheartened, and often won't know what to do.

But I won't give up. I'll break through whatever lies ahead, even if I have to hack through thorns.
