A Puppeteer's Life

"It's been a long time, Muto," Shi Wen said as the breeze lifted her hair. She brushed it aside and turned to him.

The little girl sprang to her feet and spoke first. "Who are you? What's your name? How dare you spy on me!"

"My name is Ying Luoli."

The little girl before him, Luoli, held out her right hand toward Muto and pointed at him. "From now on, I want you to be my prince."

"Do you still remember the story of the Fruit of Invulnerability?" Shi Wen asked from her hospital bed, gazing out at the view beyond the window.
