Alas, the Green Fades and the Red Grows Thin

White clouds drifted by, a gentle breeze stirred, and cicadas shrilled. Beneath the camphor tree by the street, two people clung to each other, reluctant to part.

Four years passed in the blink of an eye. Yi Lin took a job at a company, while Meng Fanyu went abroad for further study. Though thousands of miles separated them, through all those days and nights... Meng Fanyu completed his studies and returned home with his beloved, while Yi Lin's beauty faded, tears streaming down her face as her life dwindled like green leaves and red blossoms.
