The New World

In recent years, disasters of every scale have struck all over the world. Then, one day, peaceful life suddenly collapsed when an unprecedented, devastating tsunami swept toward the entire globe. The once-prosperous streets and high-rises were wiped away by the waves, and the few lucky survivors huddled together on higher ground. When disaster struck, Qiu Ming of Qianling High School was rescued by an organization known as "Ling." There, he witnessed many phenomena he had never seen before, things that science could not explain, as if he had stepped into another world. Qiu Ming also learned that the disasters had not happened by chance. They had been caused by a meteorite that had landed on Earth precisely at the turn of the century. Spiritual energy cores refined from fragments of the meteorite awakened various abilities in some people, but the cores also attracted the attention of an organization other than "Ling." Qiu Ming was one of the trainees chosen by the organization to become a "spiritual adept," yet he could not resonate with any kind of spiritual energy core. Despite ranking near the bottom, he was placed in one of the best classes, among the top-ranked students. What could be going on...?
