Journey to the West: I'm the Black Bear Spirit, and I Ate Tang Monk from the Start

After transmigrating into Journey to the West as the Black Bear Spirit, Li Yuan is starting to panic.

According to the story's next events, he'll be captured and made a gatekeeper.

Sure, it's a civil-service job, but he'll have to wear a tightening hoop for the rest of his life. Li Yuan wants no part of that.

So he immediately decides to go into seclusion and cultivate for a few thousand years. But before he can even take his first step, a report comes from outside.

"Your Majesty, we've captured Tang Sanzang for you."

Li Yuan sighs and looks at Tang Sanzang, who's acting as if he has nothing to fear. He suddenly feels so frustrated.

Just then, the System appears.

"Open-ended missions are now available. Mission One: Release Tang Sanzang. Reward: One fine tightening hoop and the title of Guanyin's attendant boy.

Mission Two: Leave without bothering with Tang Sanzang. Reward: One drop of Great Shaman blood essence and one Transformation Pill.

Mission Three: Eat Tang Sanzang. Reward: One drop of Ancestral Shaman blood essence, immediate transformation, and the Chaos Spirit Treasure, Chaos Pearl."
