Showbiz: I, China's Amateur Director

Are Chinese movies no good? Are domestic special effects worth only five cents? Can China not produce international superstars? Are only Hollywood movies worthy of being called blockbusters?

No.

Qin Fan, who obtained the Director System, will overturn all of this and restore the Chinese film industry’s reputation.

A rich second-generation heir turns amateur director, adapts The Legend of the White Snake, wins a flood of praise, earns a box-office smash, and becomes a legend.

He pioneers a Chinese mythology film universe, making Chinese mythology movies crush the superhero franchises and become the highest-grossing film series.

From then on, every Chinese film is called a blockbuster, locally famous stars are called international superstars, and domestic special effects are no longer mocked.

Qin Fan: "I'm just an amateur Chinese director, and I can say with certainty that Chinese cinema is no worse than any other country's."
