Showbiz: I'm Really Not a Box Office Poison

In 3991, Zhou Yuan won Best Director and Best Screenplay at the International Film Festival for his artistic short film The Road Home, becoming the first person in the history of Chinese cinema to win both awards.

However, the films he directed that year suffered one box-office failure after another, leaving the investors with devastating losses.

From then on, the rookie director once hailed as the most likely to win an Oscar became a box-office poison.

After ten years away from the spotlight, he made a triumphant return with his new film Dying to Survive, breaking the box-office record for Chinese-language films set over the past decade!

At the International Film Festival awards ceremony.
