Great Ming: From Pirate to Global Hegemon

"Young master, the barbarian invaders have surrounded Shanhaiguan. His Majesty asks you to help break the siege. Your military pay can wait..."

"Are we short on money?" Wu Di asked his subordinate.

The subordinate shook his head.

And so, Marshal Wu's Ming Marine Corps went ashore to fight...

"Marshal Wu, His Majesty wants to betroth the Ninth Princess to you..." A eunuch smiled ingratiatingly at Wu Di.

Wu Di rolled his eyes. "He's trying to stiff me on my military pay and the rewards I fronted for military achievements, isn't he?"

"Young master, the Queen of England says she wants to marry her daughter to you!"

"She wants to trick me into lending her my ironclad warships to fight her battles. No way! Tell her to pay her war reparations, and make it quick!" Wu Di looked contemptuous.

Dorgon looked at Wu Di. "Master, why don't we just wipe out England?"

"Dorgon, don't be so warlike. Our fleet exists to protect our money-making ventures. I heard you lost eight million taels to His Majesty playing Fight the Landlord last night. Are you planning to rob their royal palace...?"
